Biking has some tremendous benefits. Not only does it help you maintain your physical fitness, but it can benefit your financial health and the health of the planet, too!
Personal Health
Biking on a daily basis will increase your overall level of physical fitness, improve your cardiovascular health, and burn calories.
Financial Health
Biking is much cheaper than driving in just about every way possible. Bikes are less expensive to purchase, don't require insurance or a state registration, and don't require you to purchase gasoline. If you bike instead of drive, you can avoid a lot of expenses.
Global Health
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the average passenger vehicle emits about 404 grams of CO2 per mile and every gallon of gasoline burned creates about 8,887 grams of CO2. In contrast, biking avoids all of those emissions, thereby promoting cleaner air for all of us to breathe.
We educate people on the personal, social and global benefits of biking and we plan to create incentives for people to incorporate cycling in their lives.
We are a small group of volunteers trying to motivate more people to bike more often.
We are just beginning to turn the pedals on this operation. As we crank, ChainRing will drive the chain and the wheels will begin to move!
